The Doctor Sent it Already, I Saw Him Do It Earlier Today!

Although you may have witnessed the doctor send the prescription earlier electronically, if the pharmacy has not received the prescription,  the electronic prescription has not gone through yet. Complaining to the pharmacy multiple times that the doctor sent it electronically, will not help the situation. One of the best things you can do is to call your pharmacy ahead of time to verify if the pharmacy received your prescription. If they have not received it, feel free to let the pharmacy know to contact you back as soon as they have.

You should call your doctor later on if the pharmacy has not received it after a while (1-2 hours) to see what's going on with the electronic prescription. If anything, your doctor could also call the pharmacy to verbally give the prescription over the phone. If your doctor says he/she already sent it electronically, let him/her know that the pharmacy had not received it and perhaps he/she could double check and send it again electronically or call in the prescription to the pharmacy. There can sometimes be a delay with electronic prescriptions from the doctor's office to the pharmacy. Avoid releasing your frustration at the pharmacy staff, they are most likely doing the best they can to serve you.
