Dissatisfaction With Your Current Pharmacy
If you feel like the level of care and personal attention at your pharmacy is not where it should be, there are things you can do. The first thing is to talk to your pharmacist at your current pharmacy and let him or her know that you feel you haven't been well taken care of at your pharmacy. Perhaps you would like more talks with the pharmacist about your medications or more talks in general because the pharmacy should be a friendly and welcoming place to go to. If the pharmacist truly values you as a patient, they will make every effort to make sure your future needs are met.
If nothing improves, there are plenty of other pharmacies to choose from that would welcome you with open arms and take care of your needs. When choosing a pharmacy, you should use a general checklist like the one below.

- How convenient is it for you to use? (location, pharmacy hours, etc.)
- Is it clean and does it seem to be operating smoothly?
- Is the staff courteous and friendly? It helps to ask the staff questions and pay attention to the answers you receive; it will give you a hint of what it will be like to deal with them in the future.
- Does it offer services important to you and your family? Examples are delivery services, emergency services, other available locations if you travel, diabetes care services, and automatic refills.
- If your insurance plan has a limited network of pharmacies, be sure the pharmacy you select is part of this network or you may have to pay more for your medications.
- Review the pharmacy's website if there is one available. Look for online services such as prescription refills, viewing your medication profile, and possible email access to the pharmacist for questions.
