Going On Vacation?

You're finally going on that well-deserved vacation, but you also need your monthly prescription to maintain your health. What should you do?

1) Best thing to do is to check with your insurance provider to see what can be done. If your insurance covers for 90-day supply or will override and allow you to receive a vacation supply, then you are good to go!
If not you will have to pay out-of-pocket for your vacation prescription costs.

2) If you use a community retail-pharmacy like Walgreens or CVS that has multiple chains nationwide, don't worry! You should be able to request your refill if you are traveling in a state or U.S. territory (i.e. Puerto Rico) that has the same chain pharmacy you use. This is because community pharmacies like Walgreens, have their pharmacy systems centrally linked for your pharmacy profile to be available when you visit another state or U.S. territory.

Due to certain federal and state laws, you might not be able to have controlled substance prescription transferred across states. If that is the case, you might have to get a new prescription from a doctor when you are on vacation.
